Activities Co-ordinator

If yes to the above, we have a fantastic opportunity at Longview Care Home for you.
We are looking for an Activities Co-ordinator, 18 hours per week, flexible on days and times, fantastic rates of hourly pay. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing engaging, person-centred and meaningful activities for residents.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Developing and implementing a diverse range of welcoming and inclusive activities which cater to the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of residents
- Organise events and in-house activities that promote stimulation
- Collaborate with care staff, Seniors and management to ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs of the residents
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities to continuously improve the offer.
What the ideal candidate will bring to the role:
Flexibility to deliver activities out-of-hours, as and when required.
Previous experience of working in a care or nursing setting
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all residents (some of whom will be non-verbal and / or non-ambulant and may have challenging behaviours), families and staff
Creativity with the ability to organise and deliver engaging activities for all vulnerable residents
Excellent planning ability to keep a well-managed diary of multiple activities going, at all times with the requisite risk assessments, and other associated documentation, in place
Team Leader
The Team Leader will be required to:
- Manage the senior team
- Take control of booking medications/medication practices
- Use Emar/PCS – Care planning, medication
- This role is not senior but leading the senior team and taking the lead with all aspects of running the home on a daily basis
- Cover annual leave/sickness
- Liaise with professionals
- First point of contact with residents’ families
- Good organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Assist with infection control practices and procedures
- Carry out administrative tasks
- Assist the management staff with management tasks
- Train and supervise carers and more junior staff
- Assist with and complete risk assessment and service users’ care plans as necessary
- Assist the Registered Manager with all aspects of running the Home
- Be on call during out of hours if necessary
- Senior experience desired
